About our business and how we got started

Waltham Park Pharmacy has been serving the people of Kingston and its surroundings for over 20 years. From a very young age, the owner and operator, Mrs. Maureen Hemmings, whose parents were both entrepreneurs, aspired to be an entrepreneur herself.

Mrs. Hemmings studied pharmacology and acquired her pharmacist license in 1972. After nearly 20 years working in the industry and gaining valuable experience, in August 1991 she followed her dream and she and her husband established their first pharmacy at 42 Waltham Park Rd.

How we've grown over time

Over the years, the Hemmings have diversified in the products that they sold. As well, they expanded their business:

- In 1994, they relocated to a more spacious facility at 53 ¾ Waltham Park Rd.

- In 2009, they acquired another pharmacy, Noel's Pharmacy, located at 1A McArthur Avenue, off Waltham Park Rd.

- The latest addition to their business came in 2014 when they added a Health Food Store and Distribution Centre.

Mrs. Hemmings is an active member of the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica.
